EDDI 2025 in Budapest

EDDI 2025 in Budapest

From December 1–5, 2025, the Research Documentation Centre (Kutatási Dokumentációs Központ, KDK) at the Centre for Social Sciences hosts the annual conference of the Data Documentation Initative (DDI), the European Data Documentation Initiative User Conference (EDDI 2025). First held in 2009, the conference will take place in Hungary for the first time, at the Research Centre for the Humanities in Budapest.

The DDI is an international standard designed to describe data in the social, behavioral, and economic sciences. It offers a comprehensive metadata framework that supports documentation throughout the entire research data lifecycle - from planning, data collection, and processing, to analysis and long-term archiving. The DDI community - comprising researchers, data stewards, and developers - promotes transparency, interoperability, and reusability of research data, all core principles of FAIR data management.

With more than 100 attendants, social and cultural events, two workshops, a two-day conference, posters, roundtable discussions and a 2-day Hackathon, we expect EDDI 2025 to be (one of) the best ever!
